I am a 47-year-old female. I had facelift surgery six months ago and I have been experiencing a great deal of sensitivity in one of my ears since the surgery. At first I did not think much of it but I am getting concerned because I did not expect it to feel this way. I do not like to wear my hair down that often because this can be painful if the hair moves against my ear. Is this a sign of a serious problem?
In this type of situation, it seems that it involves some sort of injury to one of the sensory nerves to the ear. Most of these problems will go away. The fact that it is changing means that the nerve is changing and restoring some of its function. I would wait before I would try any other therapy for this.
