I’m not in the best health but really want to get facelift surgery. What would you recommend that I do to better my health in preparation for the surgery? Facelift surgery may be more extensive or less extensive depending on the patient’s degree of facial aging. For more extensive procedures we recommend sedation or general anesthesia and these patients will need to have clearance from their doctor and possibly even a stress test. Less extensive procedures can be performed under local anesthesia. I recommend that anyone looking to have facial surgery see their internist or cardiologist and tell the doctor that they’re planning on having cosmetic surgery and ask whether they’re a good candidate or what can they do to be a better candidate for surgery.
