Incomplete muscle release is a very common problem we encounter with submuscular breast augmentation. In a typical submuscular breast augmentation the muscle is divided at the bottom to allow the implant to be placed and it is thinned towards the center to create more cleavage. Many time the muscle is incompletely divided or perhaps reattaches to itself. This causes implants to move too aggressively with muscle flexion or may lead to high riding or superiorly displaced implants. The treatment is straightforward and will divide the portion of the muscle that was causing the problem.
